What happens when a star shows up on a set and has pimples or acne?

They get a lemon juice facial. What is that? You get a lemon and cut it in half and gently rub the open-side of the lemon all over the acne area. You can also use the other half of the lemon to run all over the face as well. The stinging feeling (and yes it will sting quite a bit) means that it is working and the acne or facial skin is cleansing itself.

Lemons have citric acid with live vitamin C and together they attack bacteria that cause skin blemishes and acne. After about 15 minutes, or when the stinging has stopped, you can wash the entire face with cool water and gentle soap. Then apply an organic sunscreen. Now you skin looks silky. Hollywood silky.

Can honey help?

Yes indeed. Dip a clean cotton swab in honey, put it directly on the pimples/acne/zits and leave it on for half an hour and afterwards wash with lukewarm water. Honey is naturally anti-bacterial and can quickly heal the skin.
Another Hollywood trick is the toothpaste. Yes, that’s right the toothpaste in your bathroom that you use for brushing your teeth everyday.

The silica in toothpastes is very effective against skin blemishes (especially zits). Apply a little toothpaste directly on the zits/pimples at night before you go to sleep.  Leave for half hour and then wash thoroughly with lukewarm water. By morning you will be happily surprises.

What do actors/actresses eat while working on a TV series or movie?

They have a set diet that often comprises (at least 50%) of the following:

  1. >> Lots and lots of clean water.
  2. >> They eat lots of veggies, in particular lots of carrots, celery, bell green peppers, broccoli, and whole grains.
  3. >> Vitamin supplements.
  4. >> Lots of probiotics which are the good bacteria for the stomach so they can process food easily. These include kefir yogurts, kombucha drinks, sauerkraut, and goat cheese.
  5. >> Lots of unsweetened tea. A favorite celebrity drink these days is hot water poured on fresh ginger, fresh turmeric (yes you can find them in southern California), a few bay leaves, couple of tea leaves and a cinnamon stick. A refreshing tea indeed.

If a star is waiting around for the director or the staging area to be ready, and they have a few hours to kill – then they get a potato/cucumber facial. What’s that? Get a raw skinned potato and couple of cucumbers and use the grater to shave them and the squeeze out any juice or use a napkin to get the juice out and then use the remaining to put it on your skin for about an hour. The combination of raw uncooked potato and cucumber does wonders for your skin by acting as anti-inflammatory while healing the skin cells. Your skin will look great afterwards.

If you want to make your skin look even more healthy, then you may even wish to subject yourself to a little more pain. You can use ice cube on your face and any blemishes. Gently rub or hold against the area for a few seconds or as long as you can tolerate the pain. The cold will constrict the blood vessels underneath the skin. This reduces the blemish areas while reducing the inflamed area on your face.

Hot Yoga and hot sauna also open up your skin pores and allow it to get toxins out of your skin (and your body). Three sessions of hot Yoga or hot sauna over a week will do wonders for your skin if you can tolerate such a regiment. The steam from hot sauna will open your pores and allow your skin to breathe. This helps get rid of oils, dirt and bacteria trapped in the pores that can cause infection or inflammation. To help even more, you can drink lots of clean filtered water and eat lots of green vegetables (e.g. kale, lettuce, celery, broccoli) and store up lots of vitamins and minerals to rejuvenate your body. You can also drink a little aloe vera juice for new skin cell rejuvenation.
