Green Cleansing Diet

In this section of Seattle Organic Restaurants I’m going to talk about the greens that can prevent colon cancer. Here are some of the greens that are full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber that can help you lose weight.

Chard: Chard is a great source of minerals such as magnesium and calcium, antioxidants and vitamins such as vitamin A. Chard can increase the body’s immune system against free radicals such as bacteria and environmental pollution.

Consuming chard in every day’s diet prevents inflammatory problems such as lung inflammation and emphysema. If you smoke or you are a second hand smoker make sure you use chard in your daily diet. Consumption of vitamin Beta carotene and fiber in chard also prevents growth of cancer cells such as colon cancer.

Leek: Leek is a high source of nutrients, vitamins like vitamin B6, C and folate, minerals such as manganese, calcium and iron and antioxidants. Consumption of leek increases the level of good cholesterol known as HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) and lowers the level of bad cholesterol known as LDL (Low Cholesterol Lipoprotein).

Leek is a rich source of fiber and can prevent disease such as heart problems, high blood pressure and cancers such as prostate and colon cancer.

Kale: Kale can be a great part of dietary fiber. A bowl of kale has 40 calories, no fat and 20% fiber. Kale is a great antioxidant and a rich source of flavonoids and carotenoids. Kale is full of vitamins such as vitamin A, C and K and minerals like manganese. Kale is also anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and very effective for colon cleansing.

Celery: Celery is a great source of minerals such as potassium and vitamins such as B1, B2, B6 and C. Celery can increase the body’s immune system against infections and inflammatory diseases. Celery can also increase the number of white blood cells fighting with colon cancer. Celery can also decrease high blood pressure.

Broccoli: Broccoli is a high source of potassium, magnesium and calcium. The rich source of potassium in broccoli helps the muscle growth and calcium and magnesium help to lower the blood pressure.

Broccoli is great for skin problems and sunburn. The beta-carotene in broccoli helps to boost the body’s immune system and the glucoraphanin in broccoli is anti-cancerous and regulates the liver function.

Vitamin K and calcium in broccoli help with healthy bones and vitamin C in broccoli fights against the free radicals in the body.
