Vitamin A
In this section of Seattle Organic Restaurants, I’m going to talk about vitamin A health benefits. Vitamin A can prevent skin disorders, and night vision problems, improve healthy bone and teeth, and protect the body against flu, colds, kidney and lung infections. Vitamin A is a rich source of antioxidants can help to boost the body’s immune system.
Vitamin A also reduces the chances of heart disease and lowers the level of cholesterol. Vitamin A has been known for its anti-wrinkling properties. Vitamin A deficiencies can cause ear infection, fatigue, insomnia, skin problems, respiratory problems, weight loss, growth problems, dry hair or skin and blindness at night. Beta-carotene gets converted to vitamin A in the liver. Beta-carotene helps to prevent cancer and neutralizes the free radicals in the body. Taking excessive amount of vitamin A can also be toxic for the body or liver. Excessive amount of vitamin A can cause liver enlargement, itching, hair loss, vomiting, nausea and abdominal pain. During pregnancy the excessive amount of vitamin A causes heart and birth defects. Overdosing beta-carotene doesn’t have any effect; only the skin might turn to yellow.
