In this section of Seattle Organic Restaurants I’m going to talk about berries and their health benefits. Studies show that eating berries such as cranberries, strawberries, cherries, blueberries, salmon berries, black berries, acai berries and goji berries have many great health benefits. Berries are great source of antioxidants that help the body’s immune system to function well and prevent illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.
Cranberries: Cranberries are a high source of antioxidants improving the body’s immune system against foreign invaders. Cranberries are full of nutrients, vitamins such as vitamin C, E and k, minerals like manganese and dietary fibers. Cranberries can help to treat infections and other diseases such as strokes and cancer. Studies show that cranberries are antibacterial, lower the cholesterol level and reduce the chances of stomach cancer.
Goji Berries: Goji berries are also called wolfberries. Goji berries natively have been found in China. Goji berries are high source of antioxidants, amino acids, 21 minerals and vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. Because of rich source of vitamin A goji berries can improve the eye vision and can slow down the aging process. Goji berries can improve the memory loss against aging process such as Alzheimer’s. Goji berries can improve mental health as well as physical health.
Strawberries: Strawberries have a lot of dietary fibers, minerals and vitamins such as vitamin C. Strawberries are full of antioxidant and can improve the body’s immune system. Strawberries lower the blood pressure and are anti-inflammatory. Strawberries can prevent asthma, atherosclerosis and osteoarthritis. Strawberries are anti-cancer and are a high source of manganese fighting against free radicals in the body. The magnesium, potassium and vitamin K in strawberries improve the bone structure.
Blueberries: Blueberries are a rich source of antioxidants such as vitamin A, C, E and minerals such as selenium, iron and zinc. Blueberries raise the concentration of oxygen and hemoglobin in blood and improve the body’s immune system against bacteria and infections.

Acai Berries: Acai berries are antioxidant, a high source of fiber and full of vitamins like C, K and D. Acai berries can boost the energy level, help weight loss, reduce cholesterol level, improve the blood flow and sexual performance and detoxify the body from free radicals.
