In this section of Seattle Organic Restaurants, I’m going to talk about tips on weight loss. Often times when it comes to losing weight, people hope for an instant solution. You cannot lose weight or maintain a healthy weight unless you change your daily habits. The rate of obesity have exploded in the last few decades. Every year, 800 million dollars is spent to understand the causes, prevention, consequences and treatment of obesity. Different biological and environmental factors involved in obesity epidemic have made it really challenging for the science to fully understand obesity.

What is the Right way of Losing Weight?

The first things to achieve a sustainable weight loss is taking small steps. The weight you’ve gained over years didn’t happen over a night so any expectation that you’re going to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time is unrealistic. Here are some steps that help you with a healthy diet:

Eliminating all sugary beverages and replacing them with green smoothies

The first thing is to cut all the sugary beverages. Many people know coke or Pepsi are high in sugar. But a lot of people do not know that for example Mac Donald’s 32 oz sweet tea has 280 calories. These sugary drinks are high in calorie and do not even fill you up, so you will be as hungry as everyone else after drinking them. Even if you freshly squeeze fruits like orange juice you are throwing the best part of the fruit (the fiber) away. Our bodies need fiber to digest our foods better and get rid of toxicity. Green super foods are full of nutrients and great source of fiber for cleansing diet.

Changing your food ethics and counting your calorie intake

Change you eating habits by replacing superfoods instead of processed foods. Count the calories you consume during the day and make sure your goals are REALISTIC. A diary of your calorie intake will make you think twice about what you’re going to eat. Keep your food portions small. Instead of eating two or three big meals, have 5 or 6 smaller meals. Plan and structure for your meals ahead of time..

Regular Physical Activity

Make physical activity a part of your daily life. The reason that many diet plans do not work is that the food industry isn’t interested in solving the problem; solving the problem will actually put them out of business. The best physical activity for an obese person is walking few times a day for 15 to 20 minutes above a certain heart beat. Many diet plans focus on weight loss not maintaining a healthy weight loss. Anytime you do some extreme diet like starving yourself with non fat or low fat diet it’s GOING TO COME BACK and BITE YOU. By starving yourself you actually put on more weight.
