The original Grilla Bites in California was discovered by Anne Dottai when her daughter started collage in there back in 2004. Both Anne and her daughter Deanna had multiple food allergy issues and needed to avoid dairy and egg, so it was exciting to finally find a place with lots of vegan choices for breakfast and lunch. Anne herself has a nutrition degree from Bastyr University and an active nutritional counseling practice in Snohomish, so she knew that the menu and local, sustainable theme of Grilla Bites would be a welcome addition in Snohomish, Washington. With the help of Mosaic Architecture, Anne started construction of Grilla Bites Organic Café and she made the construction process as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. She even used eco-friendly paints, recyclable carpet, and salvaged building materials to finish the construction of Grilla Bites Organic Café in March 13th 2008.
Anne is now proud to offer a wide range of organic, raw and vegan choices including organic, grass fed ham and turkey (hormone and antibiotic free), organic tofu made from non-GMO soy, gluten free dishes, soups (made in house with organic ingredients, including house made veggie stock), salad bar (made with organic produce and several fun sides like Lemon Garlic Quinoa Salad), sandwiches (made with artisan organic bread from Essential Bakery), organic juice and smoothie bar and organic fair-trade coffee from Batdorf & Bronson.
